Joshua Rigg
Joshua graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the Australian Catholic University in Brisbane and has since built a diverse and rewarding career across hospital, community, and remote settings. In 2018, Joshua was selected as the Physiotherapist for the Australian Masters Rugby League team on their tour of the UK — a career highlight that combined his professional expertise with his love of sport and travel.
Early in his career, Joshua developed a strong interest in rural and remote health. He spent several years working in the Northern Territory, including on Groote Eylandt, delivering physiotherapy services to Aboriginal communities. These experiences shaped his commitment to culturally responsive care and improving access to rehabilitation services in remote Australia.
Joshua has worked in a wide range of environments — from tertiary hospitals like The Prince Charles and Brighton Rehabilitation Centre, to remote community health clinics and private practice. He has a particular passion for neurological rehabilitation, but values all aspects of rehab and the opportunity it offers to empower people to regain independence and function.
Now based in the Grafton region, Joshua lives on a farm with his partner and is surrounded by extended family. Outside of work, he enjoys the balance of rural life, is a proud uncle to many, and can often be found helping out on the farm or supporting his local community.
